120 Channel Telephone Interface Card

This card serves as telephone interface, non-blocking switch, and signal converter between 4 E1 trunks (120 calls) and a 100-baseT LAN / IP network. Telephone calls can be routed between any E1 channel on a non-blocking basis. Telephone signaling supported by this card are Euro-ISDN and E1/DTFM.

Recorded voice announcements, tone generation and detection features are supported.

This unit provides significant general-purpose computation power in the form of

• 4 33 MIPS DSPs
• 128 MB DRAM
• 60,000 programmable digital gates.
• Intel embedded controller/scheduler.

This high computation power is complemented by a high I/O throughput in the form of

• one 100-baseT LAN / IP interface
• 4 E1 trunks (120 telephone channels)
• 100 Mbps high-speed backplane

This telephone interface card is typically housed in a universal chassis, together with other MSS-designed modules such as satellite channel units, frequency generation unit, data / fax modem, etc.
