915 MHz Spread-Spectrum Receiver
MSS designed this 915 MHz spread-spectrum receiver for broadcasting CD-quality digital audio over a limited area, typically up to 500'. The emphasis is on low manufacturing cost, miniaturization and on low power consumption while implementing a 1.4 Mbit/s transmission rate using direct-sequence spread-spectrum modulation.
The low-cost receiver is typically clipped onto a belt. It operates with two AA batteries for several hours. A low-battery indicator lights up when power is low. Volume control is provided for the headset.
