915 MHz Spread-Spectrum Transceiver

This transmit/receive unit takes as input a hi-quality stereo audio signal and broadcasts it digitally over a short range to small and low-cost hand-held receivers. The transmitted power is 1W or less and the modulation is spread-spectrum. No license is required to operate this unit in the unlicensed 915 MHz band. Ancillary information can also be inserted within the data stream.

The unit is also capable of receiving spread-spectrum signals from other transmitters to implement sophisticated ranging applications.
