
IP-Enabled QPSK Modulator 70MHz IF

The input data stream is received at a TCP-IP socket over intra/internet. It is first encoded using turbo product code for error correction. Typical coding gain is 7.3 dB at 10-6 bit error rate, for a coding rate of 0.793. The resulting stream is modulated at a 70 MHz Intermediate Frequency.
The intermediate frequency is programmable over a 36 MHz band centered around 70 MHz. The carrier phase noise is consistent with modulation rates as low as 10 Kbit/s. Maximum data rate is 2 Mbit/s.
The output spectrum purity guarantees acceptance over most satellite networks:
Out-of-band spectral spurious lines < - 60 dBc
Out-of-band continuous spectrum in any 3 KHz band:
@ 0.7 * modulation rate: < - 30 dBc
@ 1.5 * modulation rate: < - 35 dBc
@ 10 * modulation rate: <- 60 dBc.External or internal 10 MHz frequency reference.
Output level: -10 to -30 dBm +/- 0.3 dB.Remove monitoring and control is performed using standard TCP-IP protocol.
Test modes include:
- unmodulated carrier
- transmission of a 2047-bit pseudo-random sequence to test the modulated spectrum.
